Radon Fan & System Repair

Radon fan replacement and system repair

Radon fans run around the clock and eventually wear out. If your manometer reads level, the fan is silent or rattling, or a retest came back high, request a repair and get a free written estimate.

Covered under radon fan & system repair

  • Radon fan replacement
  • Manometer reading zero or level
  • Noisy, rattling or vibrating fans
  • Cracked, disconnected or frozen vent pipe
  • Upgrading a passive system to an active fan
  • System check and retest after repair

Signs your radon system needs attention

  • The manometer liquid is level (both sides even). That usually means the fan has stopped pulling suction.
  • No hum at the fan, or a new grinding, rattling or whining noise.
  • A recent test came back high even though you have a system.
  • Visible pipe damage, loose joints or ice buildup at the exhaust in winter.
  • A tripped breaker or unplugged fan after other electrical work.

Passive radon pipes in newer Omaha homes

Some newer homes were built with a passive radon pipe running from under the slab up through the roof, but no fan. A passive pipe alone may not lower radon enough. If a test shows high levels, adding an inline fan to the existing pipe is often the simplest fix. Ask about it in your request.

Frequently asked questions

How long do radon fans last?

Fan life varies with model, placement and climate. Many fans run for years, but they are a wear item. Check the manometer every few months so you notice when one stops.

Can I replace the radon fan myself?

Fans connect to the vent pipe and to power, and the replacement should be sized to the system. A credentialed specialist can confirm the right fan and retest afterward.
